Antioch Police Identify Homicide Victim in Saturday’s Sycamore Shooting

On Monday, the Antioch Police Department identified 18-year-old Marcos Villazon of Pittsburg as the victim in the city’s sixth homicide of 2015.

The shooting occurred at 9:00 pm Saturday in the 1400 block of Sycamore Drive in Antioch. A 18-year-old male out of Antioch and a 24-year-old male out of Pittbsurg were also wounded in the shooting, but their injuries were not considered life threatening. Neither victim was identified by police.

IMG_8099Police said Saturday that the 3 victims all knew each other and were outside of an apartment smoking when they were approached by subjects unknown to them. As the unknown subjects approached the victims they began shooting at them, striking all 3 victims. The suspects fled the area after the shooting and are outstanding.

Antioch Police stated the investigation is still ongoing and no further information will be released at this time.
