Antioch Police Cite 14 Juveniles in Violation of Curfew Law During Special Operation

by ECT

Antioch Police Chief Allan Cantando reported over the weekend that the Police Department participated in a special operation specifically targeting juveniles out and about in violation of the night time curfew law, which prohibits those 17 and younger from being in a public place between 11pm-5am.

During this curfew sweep, 14 juveniles were contacted, issued citations, and subsequently released to their parent/guardian.

Juvenile curfew laws are established to promote the safety of those under the age of 18, whose inexperience renders them particularly vulnerable to becoming participants in unlawful activity, or being victimized by others who commit crimes.

The Antioch Police Department cares about our young citizens and encourages parents/guardians to have thoughtful discussions with their children to help keep them off the streets at night.
