Antioch Police Announce Arrest of Homicide Suspect

The Antioch Police Department announced Thursday that they have arrested homicide suspect Jess Swanson in partnership with the US Marshall’s Service.

On September 16, Antioch Police announced that Swanson was a “person of interest” in a homicide that occurred in the 400 block of San Joaquin Ave. Police also provided his photograph which quickly hit social media.

According to police, on September 16, at around 7:30 pm, a search warrant was served at a residence in 2800 block of Bonita Avenue. At this location, Jess Swanson surrendered to investigators without incident. He was taken into custody on an arrest warrant obtained for the murder of 32 year old Joshua Jacobson of Antioch.

sunny-JacobsonSwanson was booked for Murder, Intimidating a Witness, Terrorist Threats and a Weapon Violation. He is being held at the Contra Costa County Jail with no bail.

Also taken into custody at this location was Sunny Jacobson (41 yrs out of Antioch) on a single charge of conspiracy after the fact. She was also booked into the county jail and is being held on $500,000 bail. Sunny is of no relation to the victim.

Investigators will be presenting the case to the District Attorney’s Office later this week. This was Antioch’s 4th homicide in 2015.

My family has lived and owned a house in that area for many years and we have seen the area decline . it is so sad to know that is where i grew up . I dont think antioch can ever go back to how it used to be.
