On Tuesday morning, we caught the tail end of a police pursuit as an unmarked patrol car followed a green van onto Highway 4 before patrol cars made the stop and arrest at the Lone Tree Way off-ramp. It turns out, the arrests were in connection to molestation charges as heard over the radio.
Johnny Montanez was arrested on multiple counts of sexual assault and Carol Montanez was arrested for child endangerment. The arrests came after an investigation into allegations of physical and sexual abuse by Johnny and Carol Montanez on multiple members of their own family.
Johnny Montanez is currently being held in Contra Costa County on $6,000,000 bail and Carol Montanez is being held on $250,000 bail. The case is still being investigated by the Antioch Police Department’s Investigations Bureau.
There is no word from police on the number of victims, ages, or time frame as to when the incidents occurred.

On 7/9/13 at approximately 8:54 AM, the Antioch Police Department arrested Johnny and Carol Montanez during a traffic stop on Hwy 4 and Lone Tree Way in the city of Antioch. Johnny Montanez was arrested on multiple counts of sexual assault and Carol was arrested for child endangerment. The arrests came after an investigation into allegations of physical and sexual abuse by Johnny and Carol Montanez on multiple members of their own family. The case was brought before the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office on 7/11/13, and both suspects have been charged for their crimes.
Johnny Montanez is currently being held in Contra Costa County on $6,000,000 bail and Carol Montanez is being held on $250,000 bail. If Johnny Montanez is being held on $6 million bail. It tells me this press release by Antioch PD is not telling the entire story. Something else is going on or there is a lot of victims involved.
The bail is set high so they can’t make it and escape to Mexico. The article says there are multiple victims.

CCTimes updated their article to include specific details of charges to the father: dates (Aug 2007- July 2008), as well as charges of sodomy of a child under the age of 10, Child cruelty resulting in injury or death, and incest. The mom is being held on charges of child cruelty resulting in injury or death…… Just sick!!!!
