Position Description
Provide for overall leadership and coordination among the various programs to provide area youth with worthwhile learning experiences. Help accomplish Antioch PAL’s goal of developing trust and understanding between police officers and at risk youth through educational, athletic and recreational activities. The Program Coordinator will provide guidance and direction of multiple PAL programs involving approximately 1,000 annual youth participants. The Program Coordinator will manage the day-to-day operations of a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Salary: $20/Hour — 20 Hours per Week

Responsible to: Antioch PAL Board of Directors

Reports to: Antioch PAL Board President or designee

Qualifications:
• 2+ years experience in a similar and/or related field. BA Degree or higher a plus
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Computer literate and able to use a wide range of applications including MS Office, email, web
• Ability to establish strong working relationship with the Antioch Police Department and City of Antioch staff members
• Ability to maintain close working relationship with California & National PAL leadership and other PAL organizations
• Ability to establish relationships with local businesses and community organizations
• Strong customer focus and a positive impression with PAL participants, parents, and volunteers
• Passion for working with youth and a strong focus on their self development
• Must possess a valid California State driver’s license and pass background check

Duties and Responsibilities may include but is not limited to the following:
• Coordinate and develop high quality sports and youth development programs such as Youth Directors Council, basketball, football, boxing, cheerleading, mentoring, and other after school programs
• Provide recommendation for addition and deletion of programs. Collaborate with other state or national PAL programs (i.e., First Tee Kids Golf Program)
• Management and leadership of a wide range of volunteers.
• Regular status and reporting to PAL Board of Directors, including during quarterly board meetings
• Works with Board of Directors for fundraising programs such as sponsorships, grants, and other effective financial development activities (priority)
• Attendance and participation in regional and state PAL meetings
• Coordination of webpage and content updates
• Responsible for marketing, public relations, and overall communications with the public.
• Other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors
• Manage program budget as provided by the Antioch PAL Board of Directors
