The Antioch Police Activities League’s 2013 Jr. Giants Baseball Season celebrated its season yesterday evening at the Prewett Family Park in Antioch as the entire league was invited for a few hours of swimming, hot dogs and fun at no charge. Players were provided with gloves for next season.
Family’s were able to swim at the facility from 4-6 pm and had a chance to talk with the chief and say goodbye to their coaches while showing off their new gloves.
As they go into the off season, they will begin raising funds for next year so they do not have to turn away nearly 200 kids. Their annual golf tournament fundraiser this September is still looking for sponsors for this event and will also take donations for next season.
According to Police Chief Allan Cantando, they are looking to expand the league and make it even better for next year so that more youths can get involved.
