At roughly 4:32 pm Tuesday, a man was shot and killed outside Joes Liquor and Food on D Street with two subjects fleeing the scene.
The Antioch Police Department responded to a report of shots fired and a victim down on the ground near Joe’s Liquor store. When officers arrived they found a male suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. The incident shut down D Street from W. 18th to W. 20th as police gathered evidence and interviewed witnesses.
Antioch Police Investigators are currently following up on leads. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective James Stenger @ (925) 779-6894
The following information was via Radio Traffic and not part of police information release:
- Subject may have been shot three times – twice in chest and once in the face
- Two subjects were seen running down W. 19th towards G Street
- Subjects were described as Hispanic males – one with long hair/dreads
