Antioch Police responded to the 2300 block of Peppertree Way Saturday evening after a man was shot multiple times after resisting orders of a man who tried to rob him.
The shooting occurred at the 1400 Block of Sycamore Drive near the bridge where an unknown man approached the 29-year-old male victim and tried to rob him at gunpoint. When the victim resisted, he was shot multiple times with non-life threatening gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The responsible is unknown and the victim’s name is not being released at this time.

Mr. Simmons, It will certainly help if all of us vote FOR the Residential Landlord Fee in the November 4, election. This will allow the landlords to finally pay their fair share. Many of them are more than willing to do this but the OUT OF TOWN GROUP known as California Apartment Association is funding a no campaign. Our YES campaign may be underfunded but we MUST win or this city will file for bankruptcy next and will have a police force half what we have now.

Last night the poor APD were running from incident to the next. It’s out of control in Antioch and I don’t care how many police you have, it’s not going to matter unless we get the trash out. Not only was there a fatality on Hwy 4 at Hillcrest, there was a shooting where 6 were hit and a fire. I heard the helicopter over my house around 2am and coming and going from Kaiser. I’m getting the hell out of dodge soon as I can. I do not want to raise children in this mess. Now I know there is every type of “trash” and incidents around, but I think most if not all would agree with me that Antioch is only getting better and there is No TAKING BACK ANTIOCH unless drastic changes are made. Makes me sad….and the reason I had to leave my home town years ago. I miss Antioch and the way it use to be. it will never be the same again.
It is time for a Sycamore Drive Task Force. They should be unmarked and heavily armed. Take out the cancer before it grows to big and destroys Antioch.
I feel so safe knowing I voted for Mayor Harper. I felt safe when his billboards had a cop badge right next to him. I felt safe when he said, “Things are getting better” in regards to Antioch crime. I voted for him because he said “Zero tolerance for crime” on his billboards.
