Antioch: Man Dies in Police Custody After Medical Distress

by ECT

On Thursday at roughly 12:25 pm, Antioch Police Officers responded to 2301 Sycamore Dr. regarding a male who had forced the door open to a resident’s apartment and entered inside. When officers arrived he was no longer in the home.

A short time later, officers located the suspect in a nearby apartment complex on Mahogany Way and attempted to detain him. During their attempts to do so, the suspect suffered some sort of medical distress. Fire and ambulance were arriving on scene and life saving measures were taken.

Antioch-Police-DeathThe 31 year old man was transported to the hospital and later pronounced deceased.

Since  this is considered an in custody death, the county protocol was invoked. The Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office,  the Contra Costa County Crime Lab and the Antioch Police Department will be conducting an investigation into the facts surrounding this incident.

No further information will be released tonight regarding the investigation.

He probably poisoned himself. But that does not matter. Be ready for the riots against police brutality. Disarming the police is a key step in a new world order.

This man left behind 6 children and a new born infant. He’s a father just like any other man he has a loving mother and 6 siblings . & these police took his life for nothing . He’s human just like us . These coward ass police took his life . Everyone makes mistakes but these police are not the ones who have the power to kill some one for doing wrong . The Antioch police department are all cowards and you will pay for what you did. Rest in peace my black brother ! Your death will not be called something other then what it was . Murder ! And the officer who is responsible . God will get you !

It sounds like those that are defending the guy that died, must have been at the scene when this event took place. Sounds like they “know it all”. Be good and contact the Antioch Police. The information you give them might then be justice for your brother or cousin. So, instead of having your panties in a ruffle over this matter and assuming that the victim died by the Police, GROW UP and GET A LIFE! Let the man rest in peace and pray for his family.

Don't do illegal stuff and APD won't mess with you. Jun 26, 2015 - 4:55 pm

He must have suffered internal injuries when he forced open that door on Sycamore.

I feel sorry for the door. Poor door did nothing wrong.

With all of the controversy surrounding racial targeting and police brutality in the USA, the cops are under tons of stress from risking their lives every day in order to prevent crime and/or catch the criminals especially in the city of Antioch.

Unless the facts state otherwise, the Antioch police have the benefit of the doubt from me in this incident.

Larry Jun 27, 2015 - 5:50 am

I’m just saying the place wasn’t on fire. So why did he need to kick the door in? I’m not calling him a thug or any of that but come on. And in Sycamore Woods appts on top of that ya he was up to no good.

Larry Jun 27, 2015 - 5:54 am

And he left behind 6 baby’s. Probably by 6 baby momma’s. Poor lady’s and baby’s. My heart really does go put to them. Noone should have to grow up without a father regardless of his intent that made this all happen.

Wow, 31 years old and 6 children and getting arrested for what appears to be breaking and entering. Family members with bad grammar now trying to defend him and some even blaming the police for doing their jobs. Ask yourself, what’s wrong with this picture.

You either get it or you don’t.

Poor, poor Antioch. It has reached Oakland, Richmond jungle status. What a waste of a once beautiful town.

candace Jun 27, 2015 - 9:52 am

Larry, you cant alwats rely on the news. This is the storty that the police gave , after they broke his neck while he was handcuffed. Why would you kick in the door of a house that you live in? On top of that, he was the one who called the police. This is a young man whos life was lost and this is a situation that could have been prevented. He will NEVER be able to breathe again. Next time larry, if your going to pass judgement, keep your thoughts and cooments to yourself. Thats Gods job to do so, not yours!!

That’s my nephew and I love him to death. May he rest in peace. You people shouldn’t never judge or talk down on someone you never New or known nothing about. He was only living life and trying to take care of his kids. The police did him wrong and allah will make them pay for what they have done.
