The Antioch Chamber of Commerce is hosting their Annual Inaugural Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony on Friday, March 14, 2014 at the Lone Tree Golf Course & Event Center in Antioch. The formal attire event begins with a social hour at 6 PM followed by dinner/program at 7 PM. The highlight of the gala is the recognition of Antioch’s Citizen of the Year, Business of the Year, Youth of the Year, Nonprofit of the year and to inaugurate the 2014 Chamber Board.
The Antioch Chamber of Commerce, through its “Business of the Year” Award, honors a company’s contributions in developing the social and economic well-being of Antioch. The “Citizen of the Year” Award also honors development in the social and economic well-being of Antioch on an individual level.
The Citizen of the Year has two categories: Lifetime Achievement Award (this category looks at the entire body of work over many years) and Most Impact for the Year (This category looks only at accomplishments in the year of 2013, although the nominee may have worked in the community in other years).
Beginning last year, a new category was created to honor a Non-Profit of the Year” Award, to recognize the work and efforts of a non-profit’s dedication, time and service contributions in developing the social and economic well-being of Antioch. The final award category is for Youth of the Year and honors a youth for his/her contributions to the community.
Tickets for the event are on sale now. Tickets are $75 each or table for eight is available for $575 and may be purchased on line at www.antiochchamber.com or (925) 757-1800. Reservation deadline is Tuesday, March 11th.

Just who are the members of the Chamber of Commerce? It went under a few years ago and has a token head.
Ms. Zivica you have not been paying attention. In one year they regrouped and have a whole new outlook on Antioch. That was a few years ago. They are missing a few members as in the downturn of the economy members no longer paid their dues and went out of business. Mr. Wright and his board members have had a whole new commitment for a couple of years now. I congratulate them on their hard work and volunteerism in the management area. A much more active group also.
