In response to some nasty allegations which surfaced last week, Antioch High School Principal Louie Rocha has placed the varsity baseball coaching staff on immediate administrative leave while the School District investigates the matter.
“It’s a personnel matter that is being investigated and I cannot comment on the allegations,” said Rocha. “I placed the coaching staff on administrative leave while the allegations are confirmed or not.”
Rocha stated that because of the kids, it was important for him to act quickly to not hold off tryouts any longer since other schools have already picked their teams for the upcoming season. He appointed teacher and Junior Varsity Coach Carlos Gonzales as interim Coach so that tryouts can continue. He will remain as coach until the investigation is completed and a final decision made.
Rocha also pointed out that other teachers have stepped up to help and that former Major League Baseball Player Aaron Miles is also lending a hand to help in anyway he can.
“In the best interest of student athletes we need to move forward so they can continue tryouts, select a team and compete,” said Rocha.

shaking my head, these guys are supposed to be role models. I wish you would share what they did but can understand why you didn’t at this time. Aaron Miles is a stand up guy and glad he is involved. Great work by Antioch HS for the quick response.
These accusations are thrown out by a baseball player kicked off the team for fighting and being a nasty little spoiled brat and liar. His behavior has been witnessed and is disgusting. I know some of the coaches personally and this couldn’t be further from who they are.

Wow I’m surprised Antioch High Administration took this action!! It took Rocha 8+ months to fire the Antioch High School Cheer Coach who was harassing and bullying her cheerleaders! Maybe Rocha is finally learning how to do his job? hmmmm……..not saying the baseball coaches did something wrong because I don’t know but I do know Antioch High Administration did NOT do their job until 8 months later with the cheer coach!
Sounds like they want to cover things up. Rocha should be fired for not being transparent about what has happened. Whst if you there are other victims out there who would come forward now that things are unraveling. Protecting the coaches reputations instead of warning parents isa huge mistake. I guess its better to keep things quiet so that they can attack the student without others sharing what happened to them.
The coaching staff didn’t deserve to be there, The head coach was a bully and didn’t play by the rules and unfortunately it back fired on him. Antioch baseball hasn’t been the same since Coach Whitman left.
This is the school that was just funded with over 50 million local tax payer dollars?

Let the facts be heard….like always…the kids cut are most of the times the problem. This case…these kids. …without a doubt were and have always been a problem…its to bad they weren’t let go long ago….sorry but facts are facts…I know…these same parents are party houses…yes…party houses. Look…cut the bullshit….ps how much is a dime bag you ….how dare you…
I can verify that the allegations come from parents of a kid cut from the team for his behavior which was long over due and the parents do have what if referred to as a party house by high school kids. They drink and smoke weed with their children and their friends on regular basis.
