Antioch: Furniture Intentionally Set on Fire Threatened Apartment Complex

At 9:34 pm Sunday, Contra Costa County firefighters were dispatched to a report of a commercial fire at an apartment building in the 300 block of Lawton Street off D Street in Antioch.

The fire was reported as flames coming from the second story of the complex, however, upon arrival, firefighters located furniture set on fire in the driveway which was extinguished by neighbors.

Firefighters checked the building for extensions after it appeared a beam in the parking garage caught fire underneath a residence. This fire had potential to be large if not for the quick action by neighbors.

Preliminary information provided was the fire started over an argument, however, no further information was provided.
