Antioch: Firefighters Rescue Man Out of Canal Saturday Night

At 8:43 pm Saturday, Contra Costa County firefighters and Antioch police responded to a report of a man yelling for help after he entered the canal.

The incident first occurred in the area of Barmouth Drive and Burwood, however, the man traveled down to Garrow near Brookside Drive where he was located by Antioch Police. Firefighter quickly mobilized to get a rope into the water and secure the man.

Firefighters then performed a rescue operation where they entered the water and pulled the man to safety.

By 9:00 pm, the man was pulled from the water and transported to a local hospital for observation.
