At 1:13 pm Tuesday, Contra Costa County firefighters responded to a report of an abandoned trailer on fire behind the Riverview Lodge in Antioch.
Firefighters from Station 81 arrived on scene to locate a trailer with smoke showing in the middle of the parking lot.
They opened the back of the trailer and located a garbage pile on file and quickly extinguished the fire, however, heavy mop up was required due to the amount of trash inside the trailer.
Crews were on scene for nearly 90-minutes. No further details were provided.
Update:
According to Chief Cantando, the trailer was out of Oakley which was recently welded and the resident did not know it was still hot and the contents started to smolder. The driver pulled into the Riverview Lodge and called for fire assistance. .

Idiots setting trailers on fire, damn people are seriously sick. GET A JOB!!!
Oh May James, you don’t even see the irony in your comment. “Seriously sick” people should “get a job”? So I guess disability is just for everyone else? Anyways, what a dumb mistake by this citizen.
Yea if people weren’t so bored and got help with issues like unemployment then they had a job, they wouldn’t do stuff like this dummy. You took my comment too literally! “What a dumb mistake” yeah I’m sure this was just a simple “mistake” and not some low life that has nothing else to do. Hmmm
Am I the only one wondering why a recently welded trailer has so much garbage packed into it? He pulled over at Riverview Lodge to call for assistance from fire department? Firemen had to cut there way into the trailer?
