Antioch: Firefighters Limit Vegetation Fire to 4-acres

Just before 7:00 pm Sunday, Contra Costa County firefighters responded to a vegetation fire on Mokelumne Drive near Lone Tree Elementary School.

Firefighters originally responded to a small grass fire near the school, but observed a large cloud of smoke coming from the area.

A full vegetation fire was requested to the “bowl area” between Badger Pass Way, Mount Connes way and Mokelumne Drive.

No homes were threatened and firefighters were able to control the fire and limit its spread to 4-acres.

Crews were on scene for 2-hours and there were no injuries were reported.

During the incident, East Contra Costa Fire Protection District Engine 52 assisted Contra Costa Fire.
