At around 6:00 pm Friday, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to a report an odor of gas in the area of Clearbrook Road near Clayburn Road in the City of Antioch.
Units arrived on scene to a report of food on the stove, however, units advised a smell of odor coming from a pipe and requested both PG&E and Antioch Police to respond.
A shelter in place was then issued in the area and Antioch Police began informing neighbors by going door to door. The investigating also was stretching to Terranova.
No official county alert as of 6:54 pm and by 6:56 pm CONFIRE stated the odor was dissipating. HAZMAT was assigned and the Sheriffs Office was advised to issue a shelter in place.
Update
By 7:43 pm, the shelter in place was lifted with no hazard.
