At 9:00 pm Saturday, Contra Costa County firefighters responded to a report of a commercial structure fire on E. 18th near Evergreen in Antioch.

Located next door to Lucky’s, Engine 81 arrived on scene to a well involved shed behind the vacant building. Firefighters were delayed on fire attack because of locked gates and made access difficult.
Once access was made, firefighters quickly knocked down the fire, however, the structure was a total loss. The main building did not sustain fire damage. The incident shut down E. 18th for nearly an hour in both directions.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians.
