Antioch Fire Leads to Arrest on Suspicion of Arson

by ECT

Yesterday’s one-alarm fire in Antioch left no-one injured, but a house in ruins as Contra Costa Fire Protection District prevented surrounding homes from catching fire on the 1900 block of Deodar Avenue. The fire was reported around 11:51 AM, I didn’t make it on scene until around 1:30 and captured some shots of the damage.  According to the crew on scene, the fire was under control in less than 20-minutes.

According to the Contra Costa Times, evidence found during the fire attack led to the arrest of one person on suspicion of arson. The suspect has been identified as 23-year-old Dennis Wilkinson, who police say they believe returned to the home after an argument with several others and was seen fleeing the area once the fire erupted.

Considering I live in this area, glad to see CONFIRE get this under control quickly. Nice work to Antioch PD on an arrest! As usual, great shots. That house looks like it had a lot of junk in it.
