Antioch Fire Damages Park Structure

by ECT

Antioch resident Beverley Knight has taken he following picture of the play structure that was set on fire last night in Antioch.  According to the Contra Costa Times, the fire broke out at around 10:40 pm and was contained 15-minutes later and is still under investigation.

This is totally unacceptable behavior and lets hope Antioch PD are able to catch those responsible as this was the playground built a few years back with volunteers and donations.

Mayor Jim Davis Pledges $250

“We will not put up with this type of behavior,” Davis said in a post on his personal Facebook page. “They need to be caught and prosecuted. More info where to contribute coming soon!”

Contact the mayor at [email protected] or (925) 890-4503.

This makes me want to puke inside. This is a park for children and the people who did this need to pay for what they have done. These are some sick individuals.

I went by and it leaves about 1/2 the structure still useable. The wood that burned will have to be replaced. Too many arsons in Antioch lately. Go get’em APD.

This is terrible, but we can rebuild. Servpro of Antioch & K2GC construction are hosting a Haunted House (http://www.facebook.com/events/156618691143519/) and all the money raised is being donated towards rebuilding the park.
