Antioch: ConFire Quickly Puts Out Fire Along Railroad Tracks

by ECT

At 5:15 pm Wednesday night, Engine 81 from the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to a reported fire on G. Street in Antioch. It turns out the fire was at 20th and D Street and was out pretty quickly as crews were on scene for roughly 29-minutes. The fire was less than 1/4 acre and appeared to be a mix of weeds and junk.

Fortunately, the gate that provided access to the trail along the railroad tracks was unlocked and open which prevented a delay in the Engine making its way towards the fire.

The crew did a fine job keeping this under control given all the junk in the area that could have also caught fire.

Sounds like a suspicious fire. Hope this doesn’t go on all Summer!
