It’s nice to see a city manager who cares about keeping his community informed. This may also help people stop complaining about dirty homes and snapping pictures all over the place.

Yes Bobby it is nice to see that Code Enforcement is again taking charge and issuing citations and placing liens on properties that need to be cleaned up and repaired. As for your comment about “Help people stop complaining about dirty homes and snapping pictures all over the place”, Well I can assure you that we will continue to complain about these problems and post the pictures of the sites that are really bad. You must live in an area that has no problems or issues, which I agree would be very nice. But if you were to drive around and check out a few neighborhoods, you might see a home that squatters have taken over, stripped them of copper, appliances or whatever and on a few occasions, set the home on fire. This is what we are trying to avoid with the pictures and such. Our group is on Facebook if you are interested, Cleaning Up Antioch, One Home At A Time. You are welcome to come look at our page, and then maybe you will see what we are trying to accomplish. We have many volunteers that go out daily and clean up garbage, paint over graffiti, and do what the city has been unable to do lately with the lack of funds coming in. We as a group take pride in our city and I believe it shows.

This is a plus there is no doubt. Mr Jakel was asked to do this for years and never complied. We are just about the last city to have a city manager do this. By the way does Oakley do this? I have not noticed.
