Antioch: Child Left in Car for 30 Minutes As Mother Shops

by ECT

Antioch PD Save Mart

Tuesday evening, the Antioch Police responded to a report of a child left in a vehicle for nearly a half-hour at the Save Mart parking lot on Contra Loma. Upon arrival, police found a two-year-old child crying in the vehicle and immediately opened the door to free the child.

Two female suspects were eventually found and taken into custody. Police waited for quite some time for Child Protection Services to arrive while the child was eventually picked up by the father.

Kudos to the witness for calling this in and let this be a reminder do not leave children or dogs in a vehicle when you run into a store—regardless of how short the time frame may be.

Hand that woman a sign(bill engvall) OMG!!
Never leave a child in a car… ever, it only takes a few minutes for the car interior to heat up over 100!!
CPS needs to do a welfare check on that home stat!

i did some digging. found out the mother was just off of or maybe almost done with some strong meds from an injury. i guess she was having some issues with remembering things and focusing. i learned that cps found nothing wrong at home either. its just sad that one mistake can ruin a life. hopefully its a lesson learned.

Eric, two females were found and arrested? We’re they both on meds?

Yes… but the other is on lifelong meds. They live in my neighborhood.
