On May 3, the Antioch Police Department, with the help of the US Marshals, arrested Edward Stiverson, 47, who was wanted for attempted murder.

According to Antioch Police Lieutenant Desmond Bittner, Stiverson was arrested in Bay Point for attempted murder and charges have been filed by the Contra Costa District Attorney’s Office.

On May 1, police responded to a shooting on K Street. There was a dispute between two Stiverson and the victim which led to the shooting.

Lt. Bittner explained that the victim let Stiverson stay at his home temporarily and eventually kicked Stiverson out of his house and made him leave. Upon leaving, Stiverson slammed the door really hard which led to an argument and verbal confrontation. Stiverson ultimately brandished a firearm and fired the gun where one of the bullets struck the victim in the chest.

The victim, a 46-year-old man, was in critical condition at the time, but will be okay.
