Antioch: $8k Worth of Marijuana Stolen After Dispensary Driver Robbed

by ECT

On January 29 at 5:06 pm, a Pleasant Hill marijuana dispensary driver came to Antioch with orders to deliver a 1/8 oz of marijuana and edibles to Magnolia Way.

Upon his arrival, two unknown males approached the victim and brandished a firearm. The suspects ordered the victim to empty his pockets. The driver gave the suspects his wallet, car keys, cash and marijuana.

The responsibles discarded the victim’s phone in the front yard prior to the victim fleeing on foot.

Upon returning to the scene, it was discovered the victim’s car was stolen. The vehicle was registered to the victim’s employer, who stated approximately $8,000 worth of marijuana was inside the vehicle.

While a police K-9 was searching the yard of 1733 Magnolia for the discarded property, a pit bull exited the garage next door and went after the police K9 and officer handler. Another officer deployed his ECW, which struck the pit bull. The dog owner came out of his residence and took custody of his dog.

It was then determined the owner did not order marijuana. The investigation is ongoing.

Mike, Keep holding on to the truth man. It is more than obvious, violent crime is associated with Marijuana. You may smoke, a few bowls at home and feel safe. However what is going on in our neighborhoods is violence. It is unfortunate that Marijuana crimes effect all of us; not just the small Marijuana subculture that gets high.

It is more than obvious, violent crime is associated with Banks. You may use online banking at home and feel safe. However what is going on in our neighborhoods is violence. It is unfortunate that Bank crimes effect all of us…. It’s not the cannabis, it’s the criminal.

Because it shouldn’t be “medicinal” it’s all a guise we’ve had to use to go beyond federal law since 1996. It’s A PLANT….. it should’ve never been made “illegal” in the first place.

Thousands and thousands every year die each year from alcohol and tobacco but those are legal and that’s why people don’t get robbed so much for it. Cartels in Mexico are already losing money because Colorado, Washington have legalized it. 2016 legal weed is projected to make $6.7 billion!

Yet we have politicians stuck in the 1950’s with the myths of reefer madness. People might think it’s just about weed, but it’s about the dying of old ideals and prejudices, civil liberties, freedom, the prison industrial complex, environmental sustainability, scientific research, new venture capital, etc…..

Where did Antioch go wrong??????? Feb 8, 2016 - 4:19 pm

So heroin and cocaine come from plants also. Does that mean we should legalize them. There are more violent crimes surrounding marijuana then any other drug. Even if it were legal, you would still have the robberies and the violence.

Excellent points

That’s not an excellent point, that’s an obvious point. People get robbed and burglarized for TV’s, cars, phones, jewelry, etc. should we ban those things too? No! Other countries have decriminalized drugs and have less people in jail because of it. You make it a non issue, but it’ll always be sought after like ANYTHING on the black market just like with alcohol prohibition. When it’s legal law enforcement could actually focus more work on actual crime rather than moralistic attempts to stop drug use.

Cannabis does not come from a plant, it IS a plant. “robberies and the violence” It’s about money.

Where did Antioch go wrong??????? Feb 9, 2016 - 10:04 pm

Cocaine is the coca plant and heroin is the poppy plant. Yes, they are also the plant itself FradyLender. Yes, its about the Money. I’m not arguing the fact that marijuna may have medicinal uses. Hell, I’m not even arguing the fact that people want to use it in the same manor as alcohol. I do know that violence stems from its sale and cultivation. Even If you legalize it, you will never get away from the violence of it. People will still want to rip off the sellers and grows because of the profit. This causes problems for the neighborhoods because that is where it is being sold and cultivated.

Question for where did Antioch go:

Why are there no coca-bush and poppy-flower busts like there are for cannabis in Antioch then? If there are profits to be made from these plants as well, why no similar raids for them in our neighborhoods? It’s obvious people use these plants too on a mass-scale. Where are dealers getting the raw materials for cocaine and heroin? Isn’t it a little fishy? It’s already established that narcotics like coca and opium have massive medical benefits and are used by medical professionals. Isn’t it a doubly standard when applied to cannabis? It’s obvious crime stems from black market profits; not all smokers OR growers are violent criminals, btw.

Antioch gives a bad name to anything. Don’t let stories like these paint the overall picture of legalization for you. Anything associated with Antioch seems to be bad news. It’s a very unique place.
