Antioch: 28 Residents Displaced After 2-Alarm Fire on San Jose Drive

On Tuesday at 3:20 pm, Contra Costa County firefighters responded to a report of a commercial structure fire in the 2200 block of San Jose Drive in the City of Antioch.

Firefighters responded to a reported Commercial structure fire in a 2-story apartment complex.

According to Battalion Chief Bob Atlas, upon arrival E81 reported heavy fire from a two-story apartment complex.  Upon investigation a stove top fire that spread to the cabinets and wall coverings was reported.

The stove-top was found to be on fire and quickly extinguished.  Crews on scene were able to confine the fire to the Building of origin.  Extensive salvage and overhaul were performed.

Atlas stated all 28 residents of the apartment were assisted with alternative living arrangements through Red Cross.   All Fire and EMS units supported evacuation and fire suppression roles effectively.  All units were committed for the length of the incident.  No injuries to Firefighters or civilians were reported.
