On Thursday, Contra Costa County Fire will be performing a controlled burn in the form of a multi-agency training at the hills at Vista Grande and Canada Valley in Antioch.

The training will begin around 10:00 am to 4:00 pm where smoke is expected to be observed from parts of Antioch, Oakley and the bypass. It is anticipated the training will end on Saturday with a day off on Sunday before continuing until June 22.

There is no cause for alarm if you see large amounts of smoke as they will have firefighters, fire engines and dozers in the area. This is an annual training for CONFIRE and neighboring districts.
