The practice of not identifying juveniles should stop! Juveniles commit some horrid crimes! As my great-grandmother says, “These are not the 1950’s or 1960’s, when you could leave your front door unlocked at night.” Look at what “juveniles” did in the last three BART attacks on passengers! These are different times and the changes should reflect that.

Lola, I totally agree! This law to keep juveniles’ names secret needs to be changed. They have no qualms committing neinous murders thinking just because they are under 18 years of age, they can get away with it.

Juveniles names and photos should be published and not protected because they are a minor. They did the crime and now they should do the time and should not be protected because they are minors. Further, minors who break the law should be jailed with the adults, maybe this would scare them into going straight or it could be their demise. These laws need to be changed.
Great work police work by Livermore and Oakland PD.

I’m tough on crime, and feel juveniles should be punished to the full extent of the law. I don’t think their names should be published. What good would it do if you knew “Antoinne Davis, 17 year old – Oakland” committed a crime. So what? It doesn’t change anything.

Jailing minors with adults doesn’t make any sense either. They’ll just learn more crimes – and come out even worse. Or get raped by adults.

If you really think printing their names will stop juvenile criminals from committing crimes – you’re ignorant. You can’t fix stupid.
